What Is CPU-Z: CPU-Z is a complete freeware that  inform you about all hardware  in your CPU. Sometime we have need to know about our details CPU Hardware properties. CPU Z help you to know this. When we want see hardware properties with my computer right baton click and go to properties but can not see details like as bus speed, Chipset (northbridge and southbridge) and sensor etc. So we need to use another software. CPU Z is the best for this work. I think if you use this software only for one time you can see details properties and fill satisfied.

Special Hot Keys
The F5 key allows to save a screenshot as a bmp file in the application directory. These are named cpu.bmp, cache.bmp, mainboard.bmp and memory.bmp.
The F6 key copies the current page in the clipboard.
The F7 key saves the validation cvf file in the current directory.
The F9 key switches between CPU clock computation methods.

You must have known CPU-z, a windows application that lets you to find out Hardware information of your system. Now we have similar application named CPU-G with actually have same function and interface thats run on ubuntu.

How to install CPU-G on Ubuntu

First before you install it, download CPU-z source installer (*.deb) here, wait until download process finish, go to CPU-G download directory then type following command in your terminal

   

    sudo dpkg -i cpu-g_0.9.0_i386.deb 

    sudo apt-get -f install 

change "cpu-g_0.9.0_i386.deb" with CPU-G file installer you have download.

How to run CPU-G on Ubuntu

How to install it is quiet simple, open your terminal or type ALT + F2. then type "cpu-g" there. The CPU-G should running on. [thanks to tahutek.net]
